Meet the Maker

Burnt Ginger Studios began on the beaches of Maui. Inspired by the waves, sand and tropical forests, I called the Island my home from 2007-2020.  One could say a fire was lit after taking a beginners soldering class at the Hui No‘eau Visual Arts Center in Makawao. I fell in love with the sound of the torch when it was lit and the colors of the metal as the fire danced over the surface.

I began taking on small commissions for friends and family, with the intention to pay for my new found "hobby". Working at a child's vanity I found at a yard sale for $35 and the most basic of tools I slowly started to find my way as a silversmith. Coconut wireless started sending people my way, friends of friends began reaching out for special pieces. That's when I decided I needed to focus on what it meant to be a Silversmith/Jewelry Creator.

Like all good stories Burnt Ginger Studios was born on a cocktail napkin at a bar with some of my best girlfriends. What started as a joke between friends about my ability to get burnt under a full moon, slowly turned into my business. "Burnt Ginger Studios" as well as the logo of the Torch Ginger Flower is a tribute to the island who nurtured me through my young adult years as well an ode to my Auburn Locs and my inability to withstand UV rays.

2020 brought many changes, the largest being a change in location. In October we relocated to the town of Twisp, WA. Nestled at the base of the North Cascade Mountains where we found our new normal. I am so thankful for the overwhelming support all the communities within the Methow Valley.

I take pride in every single piece that leaves my studio. All my jewelry is handmade by me in my home studio. My goal is to create something that I can be proud of and that my you will love.

Thank you for supporting Burnt Ginger Studios!
